The Royal Oak Inn is appreciated for its convenient location, making it easy to reach attractions like Union Station and the Convention Centre with just a short walk; plus, there's a tram stop right by the hotel entrance. Guests have found the queen rooms comfortable and exceptionally clean, often noting the added convenience of a refrigerator and microwave. streetcar stop free coffee free breakfast loud ac unit sketchy area solo traveler
The streetcar stop was right in front. it runs 24/7. i found always hot water, a comforting constant. there was also free coffee and breakfast. It was like such a gentle offering.
the ac unit was quite loud, a constant hum. it drowned out the noise from the street, it is true. but the area felt somewhat sketchy. i can imagine a solo traveler would feel uncomfortable there.

the working table in my room was a bit too small for my liking.

a solid choice for a short visit

great location free coffee clean sheets noisy street limited parking loud air conditioner
i found the location pretty good (it was close to a lot of things i wanted to see). the free coffee and breakfast were nice touches. my queen room had clean sheets and a working shower, always a plus.
the street outside could get noisy, especially with sirens at night. i also had some trouble with parking since there were limited spaces available. finally, the air conditioner in my room was quite loud, i ended up using earbuds to sleep.
